Students outreach programme to Canon Thomas Sither Memorial  Children School  and Vocational Home for the Mentally retarded

         On 19 th December 2017, III B.Sc students and staff of our chemistry department visited Canon “Thomas Sither Memorial  Children School  and Vocational Home for the Mentally retarded  as an outreach prgramme and to celebrate christmas  with those children in home.

    The programme started with the opening prayer by Prof. Dr. R.Jeevi Esther .Mrs. Metilda Jesie, the Head Mistress of the home gave a detailed talk about the children residing in the home. The Head of the department of chemistry, Prof. Dr. J. Janet Sylvia Jaba Rose gave a motivational talk for the participants.

    Students of III B.Sc chemistry entertained the children with dance and drama. The children of the  home also performed a dance and cherished the moment by dancing with the chemistry students. Care taker of the home displayed the hand works of the children. We  arranged  a feast for everybody. Our students offered  donations and served cake for those children. The home children were delighted. Prof. Dr. J. Sudha Philomina did the closing prayer.

    The trip was very useful and helpful to teach our students to serve the society.
