SALT FACTORY (THOOTHUKUDI) 19-12-12
Students
of III B.Sc Chemistry visited Sahayamatha salt purification factory on 19-12-12
situated in Veppalodai near Tuticorin. In this factory sea water and salt water
were used to prepare salts. Both gypsum and sodium chloride are prepared. Our
students went through the various processes in purification steps like ragging,
crushing, sieving, drying and packing. They also noted down the safety measures
and workers welfare schemes followed in the factory. They also gave some
suggestions to the factory management to improve the quality of the factory.
STUDY TOUR
A
Study Tour to Trivandrum, Veli beach and Zoo was arranged on 3.3.2013. The
students visited places of importance and enjoyed the nature.
